How to use split-screen mode on Tweetycam

Split-screen mode is designed for families using more than one Tweetycam camera. It allows you to view two camera feeds on a single monitor screen, making it easier to keep an eye on multiple children or rooms at the same time.

This feature is especially helpful for parents with siblings in different rooms, or for monitoring both sleep and play spaces without switching back and forth between cameras.

How to enable split-screen mode

Step 1: Open the menu

With your Tweetycam monitor and cameras powered on, and more than one camera paired, press the Menu button on the monitor.

Step 2: Navigate to split-screen settings

Using the round navigation buttons, scroll through the menu until you find the Split-Screen icon, represented by two squares inside a single icon. It should be the fourth item. Press OK to enter the split-screen settings.

Step 3: Choose single or split view

You will now see two options:

  • Single: displays only one camera feed

  • Split: displays two camera feeds on the screen simultaneously

Use the navigation buttons to select Single or Split, then press OK. A star icon will appear next to your selected option, confirming it is active.

Step 4: Exit the menu

Press the Menu button again to exit the menu screen.

Your monitor will now display views from the two connected cameras. The currently selected camera view will be highlighted with a thin green outline around the screen section.

Navigating between cameras in split-screen mode

You can also change the selected camera feed while on split-screen mode.

Your monitor will always have a selected camera feed while on split-screen mode, represented by a thin green outline around the feed. To switch to the other camera, just press the OK button and the green outline will move to the other camera feed, indicating it is now selected.

This is useful for when you want to pan/tilt a camera, use the “press to talk” feature, or if you want one of the cameras to play sounds like lullabies.

Monitoring sound across multiple cameras

While split-screen mode will let you play and listen to audio from only the selected camera, there are two ways to monitor sound across multiple rooms, depending on how you prefer to use your monitor.

Option 1: Use Scan Mode

Scan mode allows your monitor to automatically cycle through each paired camera.

When Scan mode is activated, the monitor will switch between camera feeds every 15 seconds, allowing you to regularly monitor both video and audio from each room.

You can learn how to set this up in our guide:

Option 2: Use VOX Mode

VOX mode is ideal if you want your monitor to listen quietly in the background, conserve monitor battery, and work with split-screen mode.

When VOX mode is activated, the screen will stay off while the monitor listens across all paired cameras at the same time. If a sound is detected, the monitor will automatically turn the screen and audio on and highlight the camera feed where the noise is coming from.

This option is especially useful overnight or when you only want to be alerted if your baby you.
