Your Questions, Answered
Isn’t Tweetycam a baby monitor?
Yes, but families use Tweetycam for a lot more than that! Plenty of our customers use it to keep an eye on elderly or unwell relatives, pets, special needs children, and more. If you need a simple, reliable way to see and hear someone in another room without disturbing them or setting up complicated tech, it works exactly the same way.
Does it detect falls or send emergency alerts?
No, it does not detect falls or send emergency alerts. Tweetycam is a video and audio monitor where you can see and hear what's happening in the room. It also has VOX mode that wakes up the screen from sleep mode when it detects sound. It doesn't automatically detect falls, movements, or medical events. Think of it as your eyes and ears in that room, not a replacement for medical alert equipment.
How far away can I be and still see and hear the feed?
Tweetycam has a range of up to 200 metres in open space. In a typical home with walls and doors between rooms, you'll have comfortable coverage across most floor plans. You don't need to be in the same wing of the house to stay connected.
Does it need WiFi or a phone app?
Not at all! Tweetycam is very easy to use, and has its own encrypted wireless connection between the camera and the handheld monitor. Nothing connects to your home network, nothing goes through the internet, and there's no app to download or manage. That also means it keeps working even if your internet drops.
Is it hard to set up if I'm not confident with technology?
Nope, Tweetycam is very easy to use. Just plug the camera in, turn on the monitor, and they connect automatically. There's nothing to pair, no account to create, and no settings to configure before it works. Most people are up and running in two minutes.
